RESPONS is proud to offer an authentic range of locally produced souvenirs and gifts, thanks to close cooperation with the local communities Huaripampa, Vicos, Humacchuco, the organization Fairmail, the association Lucia Lintner, the project Arts, Huascaran National Park and others. At present RESPONS is able to provide you with different kind of weavings, goods from Vicos, Fairmail cards and a lot more interesting gifts/souvenirs. Buying our local gifts and/or souvenirs means contributing to the goal of RESPONS: sustainable tourism development in the Andes.

All RESPONS souvenirs are reasonably priced and available in our Sustainable Tourism Center on the 28 de Julio #821 in Huaraz.

RESPONS is proud to sell FairMail cards, which can be bought for several occasions or just showing the prettiest details of Peru’s culture and nature.

In January 2009, FairMail teenage photographers paid a visit to our project in Vicos. Very soon, you will be able to buy the special FairMail - Vicos Edition - cards and other cards at RESPONS, and as such contribute to this wonderful business. Read more here!

In Huaripampa several community members have learned how to weave well, to dye with natural colors that are provided by native plants from the area, and to conserve these native plants for the future.  

The weavers of these communities now have the opportunity to sell their products in the shop at RESPONS and are able to work in a sustainable way, creating a family income without damaging the environment while respecting their cultural background. The weavers of Huaripampa are two women that are single-mothers and have to take care of their family on their own. Buying their weavings will help them to support their family and to give the children what they need. Huaripampa’s shawls, hats, sweaters, gloves, bags and tapestries are waiting for you at RESPONS’ office!

Huari weavings

Pablo Tadeo, RESPONS’ Quality and Sustainability Manager, is also beekeeper and organic farmer in Vicos. Apart from his own honey, he brings clay pots, wooden spoons, weavings and pollen down to Huaraz.

By buying these good quality (local!) products you directly support other families from Vicos, and bring an original souvenir or present back home!

RESPONS is proud to present a new range of products from association Lucia Lintner. All products are made of recycled materials and include bags, little wallets, rings, necklaces and much more.

Three years ago, three ladies from Huaraz had the idea to start an association for people with disabilities. Initially the meetings were for socialization between them, but later the idea came to do something active. Read more about Lucia Lintner!

RESPONS sells interesting books. Books that give a lot of information about the Cordillera Blanca, Huascaran National Park, and Peru as a whole.

The profit of the books that RESPONS sells will go to the NGO's and the Huascaran National Park. Huascaran National Park works on the protection of the biosphere reserve. In general, all the books will contribute to a better understanding of this destination.
