INdag1_9The Inka Naani (Quechua for ´Inca Path´) is part of the ´Great Inca Highland Road´ that once ran for 7,000 km from the extreme south of Colombia to central Chile and western Argentina. Although much of the trail has been destroyed or deteriorated, the section known as Inka Naani remains very well preserved. Joined forces of local and international organisations have now revitalized the Inka Naani in conjunction with communities along the trail, catalyzing sustainable development and providing the tourist with a unique experience.

Please note:
RESPONS has been working hard with the tourism committees to get the Inka Naani project back on track, after two years of very few visits from tourists. However, the process of re-gaining trust and motivation, is a long one, and the capacities of the tourism committees are still at a low level. Service is OK, hygiene not to worry about, but please do not expect exlcellent service in all communities. It still should be regarder as an experimental product; meaning that you as a traveller are also expected to leave comments and recommendations ofr the committees to improve.
There is one committee that has proved no interest to improve at all, for which reason the six-day versions of the Inka Naani are currently not operated. We hope to find a solution for this, but so far we have been unable to find a good one. Sorry for the inconvenience; we're afraid it's part of the dynamics of working with local communities sometimes...
RESPONS offers you the opportunity to walk (parts of) the Inka Naani and truly experience places and cultures that have changed little since the Spaniards arrived. On these pages you will find more information on the Inka Naani RESPONSible Trekking project.

adamwilliams"The Inka Naani was the best part of the trip. Moving through the environment and experiencing nature
without bounds couldn't
have been a better way to spend three days in Peru."
