RESPONS, in conjunction with The Mountain Institute (TMI), is now offering unique tailor-made environmental education programmes specifically developed for (inter)national scholars, high school- and university students. All programmes are intended to provide students with life-changing experience through endorsement in the authentic communities of Huaraz - Peru. RESPONS organizes educational fieldtrips for university student groups to Huaraz - Peru. All programs are tailor-made; developed to match students’ specific study areas. We are specialized in developing fieldtrips for students in Sustainable Tourism, Development studies, Forest and Nature Conservation, Anthropology, Agriculture and Latin-American studies. However, we also design programs for students with other backgrounds. Read more here.

RESPONS decided to develop educational tourism, as it believes these programmes:
- Give students a life changing experience by immersing in a totally different cultural setting outside their daily life (participant benefit)
- Will encourage students to contribute to sustainable development in their future career
- Provide educational institutes with innovative service projects, all grassroots & tailor-made
RESPONS programmes aim at educating students and teachers about environmental management practices in the extraordinary mountainous region of Huaraz. Visiting parties return back to their home countries with increased awareness and care for their precious natural environment. Nevertheless, it is not only the visiting party that benefits from RESPONS’ programmes, but also the local communities around Huaraz, who cater for and interact with the ‘extranjeros’ also learn significantly from the programmes; think about their improved (intercultural) communication skills or higher self-esteem because of working with tourists. RESPONS’ team members experienced many of such win-win situations in previous education projects. That is why RESPONS’ decided to actively provide educational institutes with innovative programmes which will contribute to the quality of the curriculum, all small scale and tailor-made.

RESPONS’ mission is to offer, develop and extend sustainable (tourism) development in the region of Huaraz - Peru. It is only through active involvement of many different people, including teachers and students from around the globe, that progression in the Huaraz region can be achieved. Through our educational tourism programmes, we pretend to contribute significantly to sustainable development in the Huaraz region, for example through improved education, sanitation, hygiene, leadership, agriculture, tourism services, and so on.
