RESPONSible accommodations are accommodations that meet and exceed RESPONS' sustainability criteria. They are accommodations that do more than just being environmentally friendly, but seek for the ultimate in environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability. RESPONS is developing criteria which will be used to measure sustainability practices of accommodation providers in the area, and on this part of our website we will proudly present to you the accommodations that have passed our selection.
Since we have only just started, we now only offer you one accommodation, which is the super-sustainable and very comfortable mountain lodge called The Lazy Dog Inn. We hope to be able to offer you more sustainable accommodations soon.
The Lazy Dog Inn
The Lazy Dog Inn is an ecological Bed and Breakfast located above Huaraz at 3.650 m.a.s.l. The Inn provides spacious accommodations in two adobe cabins or two private rooms in the main adobe lodge. Guests enjoy home cooked meals, hot baths or showers, fireplaces, private terraces and stunning vistas with exceptional access to the numerous activities the Cordillera Blanca mountains and region have to offer. The Lazy Dog Inn is an outstanding example of a privately owned business dedicated to social - environmental responsibility thru its low waste operations and active support of local community development initiatives. Casa Hacienda Shismay
The Casa Hacienda Shismay, located at about hour from Huánuco City, is an enchanting community-based mountain lodge offering its guests tranquility, outdoor and community-based activities, and a unique history. The Peruvian Institute for Culture declared the house Cultural Heritage, as well as its altar (separately). Stay in the authentically decorated rooms and breath the ancient times, when the good hacendero-family ruled this land, and actually did it in a very good way.
