About RESPONS
RESPONS is the place to be in the Huaraz region, regarding sustainable tourism. Travellers that are looking for an intensive way of visiting the region are on the right place at RESPONS. Furthermore, RESPONS observes itself as an information, education, and consultancy centre, which is specialized in sustainable tourism, working for NGO’s, tourism companies, communities, government, and tourists. Altogether, RESPONS takes action on several gaps in the sustainable tourism business.|

To obtain this mission, we identify three working lines:

Marketing: adding value to small and medium-sized tourism products offered by communities or the private sector;

Development: extend new sustainable tourism products in communities, that add value to the existing offer and answer to demand. This in cooperation with communities and NGO's (a non-governmental organization).

Transformation: educate, influence, and guide communities, the private and public sector, NGO's and tourists. This transformation is all in the subject of sustainable tourism, with a special focus on community-based tourism.
RESPONS can be seen as the bridge between the tourism sector and community-based projects. Tour operators feel the demand for community-based tourism, and communities want to market their products. Most tour operators do not have the experience of working with local communities and the other way around, communities do not always have the knowledge of what tour operators looking for. RESPONS is a solution, RESPONS is able to represent communities to tour operators and assist them with marketing their products and assisting tour operators in the logistics and organization. RESPONS ensures a good way of managing tourism and they will ensure that the money that reaches the communities will be used to maintain control of sustainability and the capacity to receive tourists.RESPONS exists since 10 February 2009. During the first year, we focused on operating as an agency and to make us able to offer all types of travel. In 2010 we will focus on expanding our offers and start preparing for the working lines 2 and 3, which will include working with the tourism sector activities that increase sustainability of the tourism operations.
