Three Civilizations Adventure: Live this archeological adventure
The Three Civilizations Adventure is a unique tour combining in-depth visits to special archaeological sites with light intercultural experiences and (off-road) travelling with a comfortable jeep through some of the most spectacular landscapes the Andes have to offer. From winding tunnels to goldmines, glacial lakes to puna grassplanes, from 2.500 to over 5.000 meters above sea level. During this adventure the ruins of the three most important civilizations that have lived in the region; Chavin, Yarowilca, and Inca, will be visited. The Yacu Tayta Jungle Experience is being organized with help of a group of fisherman and takes place in the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve near Iquitos. This is a truly spectacular natural area of extreme beauty, Peru’s second largest protected wilderness region, spans over five million acres of land, and it is the largest protected flooded forest area on earth. During this trip you will visit different places in the jungle as well as two small mysterious islands, while enjoying the beautiful surrounding flora and fauna. Learn to weave in Huaripampa
This half day tour visits Huaripampa where two ladies will give a workshop and tour about weaving and dyeing with natural colours. They have been using these traditional techniques of weaving and dyeing for numerous years. The two ladies will show how they weave, and give a demonstration of dying wool by making use of plants and cochinilla to give many different colors to their wool. They will also give a weaving demonstration on their looms, and you may even try it yourself, if you wish!
