Traveler experiences

Vic34We had a great time in Vicos. We really enjoyed having the oportunity to share the everyday life with Julian, dona Maria and their children. We had a lot of talk about our lives, participated in harvest for the pachamanca feast, went for a daytrip and had fun during the pachamanca itself. For me personally, it was also very valuable to hear, how much are Julian and the others really glad for the support they have from the project. I also think, that the principle of rotating the visitors among the families is a great idea. This way, not only the normal family life is minimally disturbed, but also any visitor can get a slightly different feeling and have oportunity to have another experience during the stay.

My best wishes to Julian and his family and all from the project.

Megan Son have travelled for more than five years on historic routes utilizing traditional modes of transportation.

It was an incredible experience. The guides were awsome (Basilio, Andrea and Hilario).

Guido also was putting a lot of effort on making sure we were taken care of during the trip. He is a great planner. I also made a lot of new friends... I recommend it.

However, it is also physically demanding, so get some training before you do it.

stanley2I enjoyed my time in Humacchuco because... We had a great opportunity to experience life in a high mountain village in the Andes living with the local people.

We ate food prepared in an authentic but quite sanitary kitchen and enjoyed the wonderful service provided by our host family.

The lodgings were very basic but clean and comfortable. Armando was a great guide on our hikes to Laguna 69 and the Maria Josefa trail. He related many interesting aspects of local life and lore as we walked.

I recommend Humacchuco highly to those who would like to spend a few days learning about local customs while acclimating to the high altitude environment.

This would be a great spot for someone who was planning on a trek to spend a few days before their trek.

We enjoyed our time in Inka Naani because the surroundings were beautiful and now I know more about the whole Inca-history...

We enjoyed the beautiful nature and the inspiring guidance of Guido. About the excavations he knew a lot to tell. What is very important for us was that we ourselves could determine our speed. We could stop for pictures and as long as we wanted, enjoying nature. It was a beautiful experience for us which we have been to places we would otherwise never have visited!

It is a very authentic experience and the people are very friendly and they live a very pure life there in Vicos. It is great to see that they grow all their own vegetables and grains and they make hearty and healthy meals with it. It is also great to have a local person from Vicos as a guide as they can tell you everything about their custums and so. (Vicos)

Hello, I loved the trip! It really was amazing, and I learned a lot of the family with whom we stayed. It was the most impressive part of most of my trip to Peru for a month.. (Humacchuco)

"The Inca Naani was beautiful! Beautiful views and well organised!"

"We have had a great time in Humacchuco. Our home there was perfect! The guide and his family where so nice. We went up to laguna 69 on our second day. We didn´t get used to the altitude jet, but the guide was so pacient. Thanks for everything!"

I enjoyed my time in Three Civilizations Adventure because...it gives a lot of information about old civilizations in Perú and on the other side you can see a lot of great views of the cordillera blanca. For me it was e great experience.

Vic54It was an opportunity to see how a family in a small agricultural community in the Andes lives and participate in this way of life. (Vicos)

We really enjoyed our stay in Vicos. Antulina and Manuel were great hosts and their sons were also wonderful. We especially liked the Pachamanca feast and enjoyed meeting many of the local people. Manuel took us out horse riding on our last day which was very nice. On the bright side none of us got sick. Overall it was a great experience and we liked the guest house on the hill very much.(Vicos)

It was a great opportunity to visit seldom seen ruins in remote areas and experience some amazing scenery along the way. Guido is a very experienced driver and is good company to travel with. He also has alot of knowledge about the sites visited and is happy to share. I would recommend this trip to those who have a spirit of adventure and a desire to have an authentic Andean experience.(Three Civilizations Adventure)
